چکیده

Diesel vehicle should be equipped with emission after-treatment devices as NOx reduction catalyst and particulate filters in order to meet more stringer diesel emission standard. Urea-SCR is being developed as the most efficient method of reducing NOx emissions in the after-treatment devices of diesel engines, and recent studies have begun to mount the Urea-SCR device for diesel passenger cars and light duty vehicles. In the present study, the effects of the mixer on the efficiency of urea-SCR System (i.e., NH3uniformity index (NH3 UI) is investigated by predicting the transport phenomena in the urea-SCR system. The three dimensional Eulerian-Lagrangian CFD simulation for internal flow and spray characteristics in front of SCR is carried out by using STAR-CCM+ 7.06 code. In addition, the paper proposes a method to minimize the wall-wetting around the urea injector in order to prevent injector blocks caused by solid urea loading. Keywords—Computational fluid dynamics, Multi-phase flow, NH3 uniformity index, Urea-SCR system, Urea-water-solution.

Numerical Investigation of the Flow across the Static Mixer with the Injection of Urea-water-solution for Automotive Scr-system

Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technique has been widely used for the abatement of the nitrogen oxides (NOX) emissions from diesel engines for decades. The urea-water solution (UWS) spray over the exhaust gases of diesel engines is one of the important methods used for exhaust after-treatment systems. The urea water solution is extensively injected in the upstream of the catalyst to genera...

An Influence of Trench Formation on Steel Catenary Risers Based on a Hysteretic Nonlinear Seabed Model

A steel catenary riser (SCR) attached to a floating platform at its upper end encounters fluctuations in and near its touchdown zone (TDZ), which causes the interaction with the seabed. Subsea surveys and the analysis of SCR’s indicated that the greatest stress and highest damage occurred near the touchdown point (TDP), where the SCR first touches the seabed. Nowadays, the linear seabed spring ...

An Experimental Assessment of Compression Ratio and Evaluation of Aluminium Cylinder Head in Bi-Fuel(Gasoline+CNG) Engines

The first step in dealing with the behavior of an engine on NG mode is the installation of a suitable gas fueling system on the engine. Two generations of gas fueling systems which were studied and installed on research engine were Mixer type and Sequential system type. The results, including performance, emissions and fuel consumption, were recorded and analyzed. The results showed that the...
